Application for the Pietro Elia Maddalena Scholarship in 2026
Awarded to the course Breaking the Mould with Monika Patuszynska
The Pietro Elia Maddalena Scholarship in 2026 will be awarded to a young potter or student aged 18–35, who can demonstrate merit and promise, to participate in the course Breaking the Mould taught by Monika Patuszyńska.
Where : La Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Tuscany
When : 19 July – 1 August, 2026
What : The grant covers half of the cost of the workshop and accommodation in a standard shared double room. The scholarship holder must contribute a fee of 1870 €
How To participate in the selection process, interested candidates must send the following documentation:
- A motivation letter (Maximum one page, Word or PDF format).
- A short resume (Word or PDF format)
- Four images of their work and one image of themselves (JPEG format, maximum 800 KB).
- A short video in English in which you introduce yourself, summarize your interests, motivation for participating and future projects using the knowledge gained during the course.
Applications must be sent to info@lameridiana.fi.it between 1 and 20 April 2026, and applicants will receive a response by 30 April 2026.
Successful candidates will study unusual and creative methods of slipcasing and interact with the ceramics community in the stimulating environment of La Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Tuscany. The experience will provide an opportunity for personal and creative growth and exchange of ideas. At the end of the course, candidates will be invited to share their experience with others through showcasing their creative work, and as ambassadors for the programme.
