On Centre 2021 – Course exhibition

Introduction

Mastering the wheel is anything but easy and requires much application and stamina. My traditional teaching style makes the task not easier; indeed, I am aware that I often challenged my students in this three month long course about throwing and glazing. It is not a coincidence that one of my preferred mottos: “Don’t judge each day by the harvest, but by the seeds you have planted” applies very well also in this context. The results, of which you can admire a small selection in this page, do show the success achieved by each student. Evaluate yourself how many seeds have been planted and how well those seedlings are growing!
Pietro Maddalena

To follow the progress of our students during the three months of the course has been an extremely satisfying experience.  Each one has improved their skills, developing a personal esthetics and tracing a trajectory towards future goals. I wish everyone much pleasure and gratification in pursuing the ceramic practice ahead of them.
