The barn in front of the main building of La Meridiana is undergoing a huge transformation. Ever since founder and owner Pietro Maddalena bought the property more than forty years ago, he has dreamed of converting it into a living space for the students, so that they can step out of a comfortable room and enter the studio.

What does it take to make the barn project come true?
Vision, funds, patience and passion. Not to mention the collaboration of many. Through the project “Community builders” a wider audience is contributing. Who are the community builders? Former and current students, like-minded individuals, artists and instructors — all those who believe in La Meridiana and have helped to shape the school into what it is today. You might be interested to know that you could still become a community builder and benefit from the advantages offered to them.
The timeline
One year ago this time the old barn at La Meridiana was still standing! Since then the building was pulled down. Then came many hours of digging, building, pouring concrete, raising walls, making the roof and who knows what else! Of course, Pietro and the builders know exactly what! We can`t believe that these days we can admire a new building. The roomss are taking shape, and we can finally begin to imagine evenings spent together in our new community space — watching the sunset and celebrating what has grown from so much dedication and care.
