Introduction

We will create small objects where the surface decoration is integral to the object. The colors are soft and opaque and the surface, only obtainable with porcelain, is smooth and silky. As a result, the porcelain vessels will be smooth and silky to the touch, with soft and opaque colours.

Techniques taught

The technique is based on the use of stained porcelain slabs that are laminated, cut and overlapped. Subsequently, intervening in a variety of we will obtain random or structured patterns. Likewise, Nerikomi or millefiori and liquid slips can be applied. The decorated slabs, with use of plaster molds, will then be made into simple objects. After the bisq firing, pieces will be polished and prepared for the final firing.

Teaching method

All processes will be revised with clear and comprehensive technical explanations. Students, starting from a small project, will make their objects, followed by the instructor who will give individual attention to each participant.
